I live at Ocean Isle Beach NC and am hunkering down. I also have an insurance agency so that makes it more stressful. And this has huge flooding potential. Robert hope your son's place fairs well at Topsail! But this won't just effect the coast. All beware and help out where you can! Prayers for all!!

I have a place in Charleston. Unfortunately, Not around to board it up or put out the sandbags.

I wish for everyone the thing would turn out to sea and selfishly I thought Charleston was going to get lucky until I saw the morning report on Tuesday. Doesn't look good for the entire coast of South Carolina and I cant even imagine the complete devastation that most likely will occur as FLO drifts back SW all along the coast line. I assume the tourism loss or economic loss will be felt for many years.

I don't expect many homes to be standing. Hope I'm very wrong.

Prayers for everyone.

Good luck to you up there. My son sold his beach house in Topsail about a month ago and just bought a house in Sneads Ferry on the intercoastal. He's leaving for the middle east on Saturday so this should all be fun. I may have to make a trip down there to handle things at some point.

Oceanfront on the island of Sunset Beach. Mandatory evacuation. Saying our prayers. Doesn't look good.

Thats good SSMith. Hope it remains that way for you in Ocean Isle. As of now, you are on the best quadrant of the hurricane. If you had to be in a nurricane and could pick your side, the South West side is preffered. It has wobbled slightly NW and hasn't made that West turn yet. Hope that will continue. Hope it doesn't hit land, stall and then reverse down the South Carolina coast.

Robert,

Did you son stay at home during the storm? How is his place holding up? Seems that area really was getting the worst part of it on day 1.

Had the new owners moved in yet on his old Topsail home? Hope that will still be standing for them. Lot of the homes on North Topsail were getting torn apart pretty good.

He's in Charlotte thank goodness. He's actually got to fly back over to the Middle East on Sunday or Monday. I haven't talked to him this AM yet. I know he lost his dock yesterday. With the surge I'm sure he has some damage to the house most likely.

The owner of his former house on the beach is using it for a rental I believe.

Glad your son was in Charlotte and is safe. Glad to know that.

Sorry to hear about his dock but man that area he moved too got hit pretty good. Hope he didn't get water in his home.

Glad he got out of the one on Topsail. Be curious if that house is still even standing if his old house was one of the one's right on the beach.

Safe travels to him. And good luck to you with the clean up I guess. I assume that will fall in your lap while he is away.
