Default Swinney on Deon Cain: "He's changed his life forever"

Swinney:

"Well, just first of all, and I told Deon after the game, I'm so proud of that kid. It's special. It's disappointing when you have it's like your children. Sometimes your children disappoint you and you have to discipline them. But when you have to do it in front of the whole world, that's a difficult thing to do. We all have kids and we have issues, but that usually stays within our house, and it's unfortunate that but it comes with the territory. And there's consequences for your actions.

"It was a very difficult situation last year at the end of the Orange Bowl, left him at home when we went to Arizona, for that kid to didn't let him go through spring, and for him to have the type of year that he had, I mean, he's changed his life forever. ... I'm just really, really happy for Deon. It's just very gratifying to see him grow up and mature and earn it. Like I said, he's changed his life forever."

I think Deon deserves a lot of credit and respect for being a man, taking his punishment, and coming out better for it. Shows a TON of character and class on #8's part. In today's world, lots of kids would have pouted and transferred.

I agree. But Renfrow did his thing vs Bama 2 years in a row! That's astounding.

Proud of Cain. Now it's time for him to step up his game and become a #1 receiver. We need him to take over that role next year. I think he will blossom more now that Williams is gone and he knows he has to fill that role.
