Default What do you think of the talk of ESPN not renewing Finebaum?

Personally it wouldn't bother me a bit.

Being a cynic about ESPN I wonder if this is about moving to younger (cheaper) lip flappers to chase a certain demographic (more recently graduated?). They currently may be a little, um, "ashamed" about the makeup of the existing CFB gang. I'm being deliberately subtle......the term "diversity" comes to mind....

I figured it was just negotiation talk. Pawwwl doesn't bother me that much. Living in SEC country, I don't have many options for watching Clemson/ACC coverage so I flip over there to watch all the delusion. Watching him make fun of delusional (pick any SEC team) fans is better than the political, dramatic, E! News, Kardashian, LeBron, emotional garbage on ESPN.

Pawwwl's show made it big because of the yahoos calling in and I love listening to them.

I'm probably in the minority though.

Havenít really listened to him lately but he doesnít bother me as much as he used to. You can tell he has a lot of respect for Clemson and Dabo.

His SEC and Alabama favoritism is a bit annoying, but I appreciate the respect he has for Clemson and Dabo Swinney.

They'll just reload with someone homier with less knowledge about the game and cheaper.

Iíve watched his tv show and itís so poorly produced plus heís such an awkward interviewer. However, Iím surprised ESPN would be able to see past his flaws and send him on his way.

I've probably seen or listened to him maybe a half a dozen times but based on the reaction on here they'll be stupid to let him go. The name of the game in the radio business is generating a reaction, be it good or bad, and Finebaum certainly does that.

His show after the NC game in Tampa a year and a half ago was gold. I listen occasionally if I know Clemson will be a topic. His regular callers are hilarious. I liked his "local" show from Birmingham better than the current ESPN national version. If ESPN doesn't pick him up, he can move back to B'ham and pick right up where he left off. I saw him at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow last year and he was nice enough top speak.
