Default Is Clemson's DL this season the best ever in college football?

If not who had the better DL?

On paper they look frightening if you are an opposing OC, but we all know that performance is what matters.

Canít wait to see some opinions. Itís hard to think of a team that had a DL with more than 2 All American caliber players at a given season outside some of the recent Bama teams. Maybe a Nebraska or Miami squad from when they were dominant in the 90ís?

If they can stay healthy, they will forever be lumped in with any discussion held about best defensive lines in NCAA history.

The last time I can recall a defensive line receiving this much national attention was probably the Canes team in the late 80's that featured:
DT Russell Maryland - #1 overall pick
DT Cortez Kennedy - #3 overall pick
DE Greg Mark - consensus All-American with 35 career sacks, 3rd round.
DE Willis Peguese - 3rd round

or that 2002 Canes group of:
DT Vince Wilfork - #21 overall pick
DT William Joseph - #25 overall
DE Jerome McDougle - #15 overall
DE Andrew Williams - 3rd round
DE Jamaal Green - 4th round (led team in sacks)
DT Matt Walters - 5th round (64 tkls, 5 sacks, 18 hurries)
**all 6 were from the 2003 draft, which is pretty insane.

We should have a D-line appreciation day where a whole section of the stadium dresses as orange Power Rangers. How hyped would the guys be seeing that?!

If you include what Foster, Williams, Henry, and Thomas become, It's hard to think of a team with a DLine that's comparable.... Alabama has had some big time DLines, but since they run a 3-4 they arent really in consideration...

I think we'll have to wait and see if Lawrence can return to form, will Bryant/Ferrell improve? What will Huggins, Foster, Williams, Henry, and Thomas look like...

If the freshman live up to the hype, Lawrence plays like he did his freshman season, Bryant takes the next step, and Foster and Willams look like they did in the spring game, then I will say that it's the best DLine is CFB history...
