Yea I would like to see what made up that number because I have a hard time believing it. I wonder if training camp appearances are involved in this.
Anyways I can't name any players from SC State in the NFL of the top of my head & Clemsons football program doesn't envy theirs in any way.
I have no idea either on the full list of players. A friend in SC I was tweeting with mentioned this guy. He knew of him only because he's a Panthers fan. Maybe he's a squad player?
Not sure about the claim but remember that prior to desegregation the HBCUs put out a bunch of NFL players.
Some SC State players that played in the NFL that I can remember are Harry Carson, Dwayne Harper, Robert Porcher, and Donnie Shell.
I can remember as late as the 70s that Grambling and ND were neck and neck for having the most in the NFL. Pretty sure that was a running total from the early days. And it was also the after 30+ years of the remarkable Eddie Robinson era.
