Default Pre-game recruiting notes

Spotted just about every visitor we expected to be in town, including the commitments and signees.

Rahshaun Smith was alongside Kareem Felder, his former teammate from Baltimore, who's committed to Virginia Tech. Current IMG teammate/fellow Clemson pledge T.J. Chase is here, too. They arrived last night.

Several of those guys were together during pre-game and I'm guessing they'll sit with one another during the game. Ray Ray McCloud and Deon Cain, both of whom have been here for several days.

Christian Wilkins is also in town, I saw him speaking with Dabo and Clemson President Jim Clements before the game. Smith and Felder were also with the president at one point.

Clelin Ferrell's 2017 teammate, OLB Ellis Brooks, is here, too. Brooks has offers from Duke, N.C. State and Virginia Tech.

I think almost all of the 2016 commitments are here: Along with the IMG duo, so are Tavien Feaster, Zerrick Cooper, Jamie Skalski and Sean Pollard. Don't think I saw Cornell Powell. He wasn't planning to be here, according to what he told me last week.

Thought I saw 5-star athlete DeAngelo Gibbs, who visited Clemson earlier this spring. But it was 2017 WR Justin Gibbs of Acquinas-Augusta (GA)

Also spotted Auburn commitment Stephen Davis Jr., who's up from Dutch Fork.

Another instate prospect: 2017 WR OrTre Smith, a 6-4, 210-pound guy from Wando. His mom played volleyball at Clemson.

From Fort Myers, Florida is 2017 RB Darrian Felix, who has offers from Indiana and Miami.

Justin Foster, the 2017 OLB from Shelby-Crest, who was on campus earlier this week, is back, as expected.

One of the bigger guests is Dayquan Watkins, a 6-6, 305-pound interior lineman from Asheville-Roberson (NC).

Another big-boy: 6-4, 285-pound sophomore Jonah Melton, an offensive lineman from Eastern Alamance High School in Mebane, North Carolina.

So is Marcus Hawkins, a 2017 defensive tackle from Morganton-Freedom (NC).

Stay tuned for plenty more coverage of today's visitor and, of course, the spring game.
