This one will be hard because there are so many to choose from. Who do you put as the face of Clemson? Jim Phillips is obvious, Frank Howard is another, and then Danny (hard to not put him here because of the NC)....so that really only leaves one spot. Now there ahve been some great players come through ALL of Clemson. Who has made more impact? Just the footballers? How about Tree Rollins? Stan Rome? Kris Benson? Bill Wilhelm? IM Ibrahim? Bob Bradley? You could make arguements for a lot of people involved with Clemson, but how do you narrow it to the best four??

can't believe i forgot about Woody
Jonga is right though. There really is only 1 spot available. That's why in mine I went with Banks McFadden. The one guy I never even came close to seeing play, but who transcends all sports around here.

"There is no site more AWESOME than the TREE" I had that poster in my room as a kid and a great suggestion. Ibrahim(2 nc's right?!?), Willhelm also excellent choices. I swear I can't choose 4.

It really is hard to come up with one more name. Banks would have to be considered, and being from the modern era of Tiger sports, I never got to see him play which isnt fair to him. But do you notice we have no women mentioned? Are there no great women in our sports history? Barbara Kennedy is the only on that immediately comes to mind.....I know Rushmore only has men, but we shouldnt let that door stay closed. Pretty good challenge to come up with a legit four that everyone could agree on.

Re: Who is your Clemson Mt Rushmore
Banks McFadden - The greatest all around athlete in the history of Clemson. Triple threat; dominated football, basketball, and track. Punted, ran, and passed in football. Later on did a great job coaching football and basketball.
Frank Howard - Coached the football team for 30 years. Instituted Howard's Rock, Clemson's greatest football tradition. Led Clemson to 6 of their 13 ACC titles. Amassed 165 wins. In short he made Clemson football what it is today.
Danny Ford - Took Clemson to a place it had never been before, won the program's only national title in football. Won 5 conference titles. The Danny Ford era was an era of domination that Clemson has been trying to duplicate ever since.
Jeff Davis - Captain of the 1981 national championship team and set many records. Davis had 14 tackles in the national title game. Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007. Currently is an assistant athletic director.
Could have put William Perry but he's the most famous football player in Clemson history, not the most valuable.
