Default Basketball at Clemson will never be any good

A team that is coming off a sweet 16 last year and the football team being honored at halftime and still tons of empty seats. The lack of a true home court advantage hurts the Tigers.

Building a program at Clemson will be all but impossible. Dabo has been able to build something at Clemson because of fan support. It is absolutely pathetic that fans won't attend games for a team that deserves their support.

A microcosm of this is even seen here on TCI. Over the past several weeks there has been little to nothing on basketball including a lack of threads for the games. This is not a shot at y'all that run the website; you are covering what you deem important to users of the site.

Most of you will probably get your wish and Brownell will eventually get fired. He deserves better, though. Clemson fans don't deserve a good basketball team.

I have gone to two games this year because I bought tickets on Black Friday. We would have gone today but tickets were $40 each plus fees to sit in the rafters which is a no go for me.

I shake my head at fans on social media screaming to can CBB when they show zero support. One guy even said we should make the sweet 16 every year without a shred of basis for his thought. Fans thing basketball should be at the same level of football as they donít realize our b-ball history is closer to the Coots football history

Football is certainly king at Clemson and always will be. Just so you know TCI was the only media outlet to cover Brownell's preview for the UVA game. Will got a 1-on-1. We also had someone covering today's game and we are the only media outlet to cover the women's team as well.

You will certainly see more coverage now that football is over. Hard to cover a Duke game when we are out in California covering a national championship game for instance.

It's the old chicken and the egg thing as well. If Clemson was playing better this year you probably would have had a better crowd.

I agree 100%. Most of our basketball fans have champagne taste on a beer budget. When our athletic department decides to support basketball every now and then in the form of long overdue facility upgrades or a reasonable coach's salary, most fans expect us to start signing 5 star recruits and making deep NCAA Tournament runs. Even then, they won't support the program consistently, and when questioned about it, they complain that we aren't entertaining enough to watch.

This charade has been going on at Clemson for over 100 years. The fact that we made it to the Sweet 16 last year was remarkable, and it will take at least a couple more NCAA Tournament appearances in a row to show recruits that we can be a basketball school as well as a football school.

As exciting as our football success has been, the downside is that it makes our reputation as a football-only school that much harder to overcome.

The game was officially a sellout. The empty seats that you saw were the prime club seats where fans go to the club area. The student section was also full.

Now as regards to the team they canít hit shots including easy layups and canít stop teams from hitting 3s. This team is a big disappointment. A senior layden team that is not tough. They give in real easy which is a reflection of Brad. I donít expect to win these games against top flight competition but fight hard and show some backbone. I just would once like to get to another NCAAT in a row and show the program has a shed of consistency. I did not expect another sweet sixteen. Donít you think the program can strive for three NCAA tournaments every five years? If not than we donít have any ambition for the program.
