The SEC/Bama is working their way through the stages folks. Maybe a psych major can help me out. The first stage is denial. I think they are coming out of that one now. They are in the acceptance stage now. Problem is, they will never accept that they got their teeth kicked in fair and square. Therefore, they are coming up with excuses. If you read the entire Twitter thread above, it's pretty entertaining.

Bama fan at work today: Man, we lost another assistant and that's what hurt us, all the staff turnover. I said, do you think there is a slight chance that Saban is tough to work for and thats why so many coaches leave? He immediately said, no,no,no, Saban just molds them so quickly into head coaches they are able to leave after a year or two for a better position. I just grinned and sat back down.

Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

I think many are still in the bargaining phase

I was watching the replay of the game on the JumboTron today before the Parade / Celebration. I remembered that Saban made a comment after the game in the presser that they got as many yards as Clemson during the game, but it was the inability to finish drives and get Clemson off the field during 3rd downs that hurt them.

It was only today that I heard his half-time interview again where he said that Clemson just copied what others had done before and that it wasn't anything special.

As long as they keep playing with this denial, they will never grow and learn from it. Remember how quickly CDS learned from the Orange bowl against WVU --- that will never happen again because he addressed the issues directly. I'm glad we have Dabo and not the other guy.

Yes, Mr. Saban. We probably copied what other teams did that was successful against your mighty Tide and threw in a few tricks of our own.. Isn't that why we study film, to establish our game plan from both an offensive and defensive standpoint? Did your advisory staff of 37 former head coaches not study Clemson film? If they did, I'd fire every one of them because they did not have the answer for our game plan. When millions of fans saw first hand on TV what was happening on the field, I would venture to say most of them realized Clemson just plain out stomped your Red Elephants. Excuses? Only losers use excuses.

Had a similar Bama denial experience with a coot. My response was, "But Who's your Daddy?" And before he could speak I said again, "Who's your Daddy? That's right, Clemson." Rest of the day, he had to hear, "Who's your Daddy?" from co-workers.

Quinlen Williams comments that I read certainly suggest bargaining...the 50-50 ball specifically.

Saban is still more denial-anger. The "copy cat play" comment was one of the most ridiculous comments I have ever heard from him. He knows better than anyone, all's fair in love and football.

I guess Saban expected us to ignore the film. That might be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard a Head Coach say.

Was Saban to stupid not to be prepared for plays that worked against them this year.

He lost assistants last year and won, Bama won the game before the Clemson game and those assistants were leaving them

nothing but butt hurt excuses, they got beat by a better team.
