One year wonder and ultimately a flame out, but Skip Wise was probably the best to have played at Clemson, even if for only one year.

Apparently in a different Marvel universe it was Pistol Pete.

Larry Nance didn't suck but I'd go Tree. I never saw Skip.

I was just a kid when Tree and Larry and Skip played. I remember Larry and Tree better in the NBA. I was at Clemson when Horace Grant, Elden Campbell, and Dale Davis were there, and all three were great. Even though Horace and Dale had better NBA careers, I think Elden was the best of the three in college. It seemed like J.R. Reid at UNC and Laettner at Duke got all the hype, but Elden could dominate anybody on the offensive or defensive side of the ball when he decided to. Trevor Booker and Greg Buckner were pretty awesome, too.

I didn’t see Tree but he was the first name that came to mind. Was there for Larry, Horace, et al and saw from there on. Man Larry did some dunks that made your head spin. I’ll take the easy way out and have a tie between Larry, Horace and Dale.

It's Skip. Hands down. Oh what could have been with him.

Going beyond Skip: Tree, Larry Nance, Horace Grant, Trevor Booker are good mentions also

Dale Davis and Horace Grant are worthy to be in the conversation but I am going to go with Greg Buckner. When it came to getting a big bucket or a defensive stop, he was as good as anyone who wore a Clemson Uniform. I love watching clips of his dunk to beat UNC in the ACC Tourney to this day.

I was a freshman with Wayne Rollins and he is my all time favorite player.

However, Skip Wise was the first freshman in ACC history to make first team all ACC.

Agree Dale and Buck are amongst the best. Elden was no slouch either. It's fun to remember these guys.

I will go with Elden. Never seen a big guy with the vertical he had. One day at Fike he goaltended a rainbow 3 while it was still above the back board.

Horace Grant -- 1986-'87 ACC Player of the Year. He is the only Clemson Tiger to be named ACC Player of the Year in men's basketball.

+1. As a Bulls fan, I'm biased on this one.

Hard to argue with that.

Grant was my first thought as well. The fact that we remember his impact 30 years later says something.
