My point was stay away while presenting symptoms. He did have two negatives but was allowed into Reeves to continue interacting with the team per reports I read. It was reported as a similar situation with Trevor. I donít agree with that approach. My work requires me to fill out a symptom tracker every day before I come into work. Any cold like or allergy symptoms prevents me from coming in. I donít understand why a similar policy is not being applied by Clemson and the conference. Err on the side of caution until multiple tests including a more accurate PCR test confirms negative. Just my view on things. Had that been done in this case, Clemson could have argued with the ACC that exposure was minimal up to the point the positive came back.

I understand the thought that this decision was made to avoid a beatdown but I think Florida State has every right to want to postpone today's game. That said, it should really only have been postponed until Sunday or Monday to let everyone get tested again. Sending us home is foolish.

Trevor can kiss the Heisman goodbye. Its another week of the ESPN hype machine behind Fields and Jones. Clemson will probably get jumped in the poll as well.

This season is not unfolding well.

I will never understand why Clemson stays in the ACC when they continue to be treated like a red headed stepchild despite the fact we probably generate the most revenue for the ACC.

I have very bad allergies. I’ve had those symptoms every single day of my life. If I worked for your company I guess I would have to go on disability. Smdh

I agree. There are roughly 30+ symptoms of COVID. In a normal situation, person would have taken 1 test, which would have been negative in this case, and gone about their life.

If we cannot make up the game and then it is possible Miami would be selected for the championship if they finish 10-1 and we finish 9-1. The win percentage is the first criteria for going to the championship. Our Head-to-Head win only matters as a tiebreaker.

No it isnít really. If the teams have played a different # of games but have the same number of LOSES then winning percentage isnít the eliminator. It goes to the tiebreaker which is head-to-head.

The article from The Atlantic actually discusses the ACC Covid protocol and says that the conference cannot override the decision of either team. If that is true, then the decision to not play is all on FSU.

I don't know what the players symptoms were but they likely were not bad, and coupled with two negative tests, I understand him practicing and travelling.

I think there should be something in the ACC Covid protocol that addresses this situation. But that might be difficult to imagine every possible scenario and come up with the rule.

Tough deal. Hope we get to make it up in december.

Covid has caused many unthinkable things. My companyís policy is standard rules for the virus in the automotive industry as a whole. I suspect itís true for much of corporate America. Yes, you likely would be on disability if you had a position that could not be done working from home.

So are you saying the ACC said Clemson had not followed protocols?

Or that the ACC was too chicken to tell FSU they have to play since Clemson followed the protocols?

Would the latter be all that surprising? The ACC wouldn't tell a football non-conference member that they couldn't play for the conference championship.
So, why expect them to tell FSU that their options would be play or forfeit?

What I donít understand is if Clemson followed protocol (which I think has been recognized by the ACC), then why wasnít the protocols set by the ACC enforced. And if they had no intention of enforcing the protocols then why have them.

The other thing that is beginning to get ridiculous is ESPNís coverage on this. They just showed a lengthy interview with Norvell which he clearly puts FSU on a higher pedestal for safety and taking COVID more seriously than Clemson. Then the ESPN reporter talks about how Clemson allowed a player to ďpractice all week while showing symptomsĒ but no one mention of 2 negative test the said player took.

Hopefully, after tonightís phone call we will have Clemsonís side aired repeatedly on ESPN.

According to the State Paper, player had symptoms on Monday and did not practice. Took the test Monday-Negative.

The player had symptoms on Tuesday and did not practice.

The player felt better Wednesday, and took the test Wednesday-Negative. HE practiced Wednesday.

No symptoms on Thursday or Friday, two negative tests for the week. HE practiced Thursday. Traveled Friday.

Yeah, this story is bullshit and what FSU did was bullshit. They just didn't want to play and get an epic beatdown. I agree with Dabo. If you aren't going to trust the test, then you should just close up shop and not play football this season. Are we not going to trust the vaccine next? There are over 30 known symptoms for COVID. Are you going to tell me that FSU didn't allow a single player to practice this week because they had a headache? Or bc they sneezed a few times? Or bc they felt tired? Because those are all symptoms.

This was nothing other than FSU wanting to avoid a beatdown. They forfeited.

Sounds like the player had three negative tests between Sunday and Thursday.

Reports were that he isolated on the days he had symptoms. Where did you see otherwise?

This is exactly what happened. Robert later published an article detailing what you just described. Unfortunately, that sequence of events is NOT being reported. The media is saying we let a player practice that was symptomatic. That is not the case.

From a scientific stand point I honestly don't know what you could have done. I recently travaled to Colorado where they are much stricter about distancing and mask wearing. I saw a sign that showed the symptoms for COVID-19, the Flu, and Allergies. They don't completely overlap, but some of them do. So, it is easy to for someone to be "symptomatic" but not actually have COVID-19, but rather something else.
