The Heisman is a joke. They should just give it out in week 6. They’ve already decided by then.

I see no shame. The Heisman is about big season numbers rather than per carry or per quarter played values. Etienne and Lawrence don’t put up big season numbers for the reasons you noted.

Fields had ~40 TD passes
Burrows had ~47 TD passes
Lawrence has 30 TD passes

Etienne had ~1,500 yards but the 3 leading rushers had over 1,800 rushing yards each. If either Lawrence or Etienne played more into the 4th quarter they likely would have gotten big numbers and also might not be at full strength for the championship.

The Heisman voters are not going to put a lot of effort into their decision. They are going to look at the season numbers and make a decision.

I’d love for us to get a Heisman winner, but Dabo focuses on the team and team goals.
