So, this is the booster that gave money for him to go to OSU to start with ? This statement just opened up a can of worms. happens when a DA tries to act smart

Sounds like he has been "coached" up on what to say and defend the payment.

That definitely smells fishy. Since this is tOSU, he’ll probably get away with it. I hope he doesn’t though, as this “loan” is most certainly a booster that gave him some money and then maybe they created a fake paper trail to make it look like a loan, just to cover their tracks.

If he was at Clemson, we would have to vacate the 2018 natty!

Tim Nevius, Young's attorney, later confirmed the defensive end's remarks in a Twitter post of his own, in which Nevius criticized the NCAA "punishing athletes to make ends meet."
"Chase took a small loan from a close family friend last year to cover basic life expenses," Nevius wrote. "Toan was repaid months ago and we’re working to restore his eligibility. Unfair and outdated NCAA rules punish athletes for making ends meet while enriching everyone else."

I'm sorry. If there is an institution(s) making billions of dollars off the backs of college athletes, I'm all for them getting a slice of the pie. That being said, "Basic life expenses" is a crock. These athletes, ESPECIALLY at schools like Ohio State are fed, tutoring, housed, and practically clothed in team swag, oh and their entire educational expenses are covered. What ends could he possibly need met?

The NCAA and Big Ten are chicken when confronted with any allegations against tOSu. He'll skate on this and so will the university. Just watch.

Yep. But the NFLPA certified agent “close family friend” apparently may have violated Ohio law. I guess the friend gets to take the fall for being such a good guy. What a crock of #%*&.

How do we know HE paid the money back. Maybe this same friend gave him the money to pay him back (or to make it look as if the player paid it back).

I agree with the above poster all games he's played in should now be considered a loss for OS.

He was a paid player just to get him in OS.

The agent should lose his rights to represent players in the future for this illegal act.

Had this been a school like Ky, Texas Tech, Indiana, Utah ST, WF, Memphis, those middle of the road teams the NCAA would come down hard on them.

It's a different time guys. If this was 5 years ago it'd probably have legs. But in todays environment I doubt anything will come from this.
