I guess it is time to see if Brownell can convince better talented quitters from other teams to replace his quitters.

Don't bother with attempting to debate. Dissenting voices will be silenced.

We won 23 games and finished third in the ACC. That’s not mediocre and I’m tired of our “fans” saying it is.

If you’re tired of hearing it I suggest you get a pillow because not making the NCAA Tournament means it was a mediocre season.

Lost the first game in the NIT (again) to “gives more head” State! 🙄

Until the NCAAT solely takes the best 68 teams in the country, it cannot be the only metric. The fact that FDU got in on a technicality and won doesn't mean they deserved to be there. With 32 automatic bids, there are plenty of worthy teams that get left out.

I don't think mediocre means what you think it does.

You're right, winning 23 games in a season is an anomaly at Clemson. We've only done it 10 times in our history, and Brownell has 3 of them.

A season like that should be celebrated, not bashed by our "fans" who seem to look for any reason to whine and complain about our coach and program.

Fans shouldn't be bashed for wanting more than mediocre.

There has to be more than hopes and wishes, though. Think about the history of Clemson basketball. Outside of a couple small windows, basketball at Clemson is football at scar, probably actually worse. We mock scar football, but fail to realize our basketball program is a glass house.

EDIT: When a coach does find success, they leave. We need to correct that aspect if we were to make a change in the future. Facilities seem to be improving, but you can't argue that CBB has had better results since the last round of improvements.

That's ridiculous. Who on here thinks Clemson basketball is better than what it is?

And do you know how to make something more than hopes and wishes? You make a change.......

There have been many changes throughout Clemson's basketball history and not one of those has lead to a program that is consistently where some fans want it, i.e., consistent NCAAT participant. A change for change's sake does nothing. There needs to be a plan, which I think Neff is doing. I think he is giving Brownell every opportunity with better resources to become a coach that may still be here in 10 years that turns the program from a consistently below average team to a regular NCAAT participant. I admittedly don't know that CBB is the answer, but making a change for a coach that has success at a small school (Richey) or made a good NCAAT run (Rhodes) is not necessarily the answer either.

If I were to make a change, I would look for a coach that has had success in a situation like Clemson. Lower enrollment school, difficult to recruit to, 2nd fiddle to football, but at the Power 5 or high mid-major level that would want to coach in the ACC. I think most coaches don't view Clemson that highly, so it would take $, which I think Clemson is getting there or someone moving from a smaller school, which goes back to risk.

Coaches and players shouldn't be bashed for having a good season, especially when they represent CLEMSON.

I don't have a problem with our fans wanting more for our basketball program. I certainly want to see us win more, but I also understand that expecting a coach to work miracles at a school like Clemson that historically funds and supports basketball poorly is ridiculous.

I just wish all the people who want Brownell gone would show up at Littlejohn on gamedays and voice their displeasure in person. At least then the John would be filled

You sir are completely wrong. We last won a conference basketball tournament in 1939 (SoCon). The only reason we have not won one since is for the past 84 years we had the wrong coach. All we have to do to become elite is hire the right coach and our coliseum will be filled with championship banners.

Loyola and More head State must have some of the best funding in the nation then. lol Not to mention chilling against a 3 win Louisville team. After 13 years, Brad needs to be sent packing.

I agree, coaches and players shouldn't be bashed for having a good season.

Pointing out facts and wanting to be better shouldn't be construed as bashing.

We weren't one of them. We proved that in the NIT.

We were the product of a weak schedule, both non-con and conference. We avoided the second games against the top half of the conference while gorging ourselves with two games against the bottom half.

Losing an NIT game, as well as winning a NCAAT game, does not mean someone deserved or didn't deserve anything.

EDIT: If that's the case any team that lost as a higher seed arguably was overseeded or didn't deserve to be there. Making the tournament and the results that follow are mutually exclusive. Did UCLA suddenly have a bad season after losing to Gonzaga as the 2 seed?
