5-star QB Visit Update

We wanted to pass along some information we received in the last 24 hours on 5-star 2018 QB Trevor Lawrence.

Lawrence, who is currently ranked the No. 1 prospect in the nation for the 2018 class by 24/7, visited Clemson over the weekend. This was a big deal as Lawrence had some pressure to attend the Georgia game. He had previously told the Clemson staff he would visit for Notre Dame and stuck to his word.

His father wanted Trevor to keep his word that he had given to the Clemson staff.

We have been told by a source close to Lawrence that he really enjoyed the visit to Tigertown. He stayed until the game was almost over which was impressive considering the conditions. Trevor got to see a great environment in Death Valley even though the conditions were terrible.

We are also told that Trevor really likes the staff at Clemson and would like to come back for another game this season in the Valley.

Question and not about this kid but can a Sophomore really be considered a 5 star? I find it hard to give a 5 star rating to anyone who is not at least a senior.

Now this kid looks great on the film I've seen and he would be a great addition to the Clemson Family I just feel they are starting to give these players rating too early and also calling them elite too early. My rant for the day.

I hear ya. Don't necessarily disagree either, though for guys like Lawrence it's pretty apparent. He's legit.

If it was up to me -- if I could regulate it -- no starts until the spring of their sophomore year.
