Countdown to Signing Day - January 4
It's back. The Countdown to Signing Day Recruit Tracker has returned as we track another top ten recruiting class for the Tigers. With National Signing Day just around the corner we will run the Countdown to Signing Day every night.
Check back each night to see any updates to The Tracker. Changes each week will be highlighted in Orange. We only show recruits that we believe have some chance of signing with the Tigers. The list can certainly fluctuate between now and National Signing Day.
We hope everyone enjoys the return of this popular TCI feature.
As we reported earlier today Trapp has now committed to Clemson so he has been moved to the commit list.
Moving Up
Mark Fields, Denzel Johnson, Minkah Fitzpatrick
(DT) Christian Wilkins – 6-4, 290 – Suffied, CT
All-American Game: Under Armour
The Latest
We have a lot to report tonight on Wilkins. Christian was outstanding at the Under Armour All-American game.
A source told TCI Sunday that Wilkins will have his decision tomorrow (Monday). The source tells us that Wilkins already has his decision but will make the announcement to the schools on Monday.
We spoke with a player that spent some time with Wilkins during the Under Armour week and this source believe Clemson has a legitimate chance of landing the top DT.
However, based on all the information we have we believe Wilkins will likely choose to stay closer to home (Penn State). Clemson still has a chance going into the announcement, but we are lowering our percentage tonight.

All-American Game: Army
The Latest
While in Texas for the Army game, Fields went to Twitter to announce two updates on the status of his recruitment. On Friday, Fields posted that LSU, his "dream school," had offered a scholarship. A day later, he put out a top-two of Clemson and Texas, with the Tigers listed ahead of the Longhorns.
Over the last couple of days, there have been conflicting reports about Fields' official visit dates, but it does look like South Carolina, the school he was committed to for almost a year, is now out of the running. We should have his visit dates nailed down in the next few days.
Signs continue to point towards Clemson picking up his signature on signing day.
We are raising our percentage on Fields tonight.

The Latest
With the transfer of wide receiver Demarre Kitt and early departure by punter Bradley Pinion, two scholarship spots opened up on the Clemson roster last month. Plus, there's the weekend news that Jae'lon Oglesby would not be attending Clemson.
Johnson told TCI on Sunday afternoon that the Clemson coaching staff informed him that there was a scholarship for him in this class. In the previous Countdown to Signing Day, Johnson was listed as a possible greyshirt addition.
But Clemson isn't the only ACC program in pursuit. N.C. State has scheduled an official visit with Johnson for the last weekend of January. Recruited by the Wolfpack as a wide receiver, Johnson has yet to receive an offer from N.C. State. That, he believes, will come when he makes the trip to Raleigh.

(CB) Mike Jackson - 6-2, 190 - Birmingham, AL
All-American Game: None
The Latest
There hasn't been much movement with Jackson since he announced that Swinney informed him that Clemson was ready to offer. Like Orr, that may have something to do with the increased interest from Fields, who's a more highly-coveted target.
A Miami commitment, Jackson wanted to take an official visit to Clemson the weekend of Jan. 16.

The Latest
Since things have heated up between Clemson and Fields, it's probably safe to assume that Orr isn't as high a priority. Oklahoma, the only school he's taken an official visit to, continues to trend as the front-runner.

An Alabama commitment, there's a rumor floating aroud that there's interest between Fitzpatrick and Clemson. Fitzpatrick took an official visit to Florida State in the fall, so it seems he hasn't completely ruled all of his options out.
We will have to wait and see if there is enough interest in the Tigers to take a visit.
