Default Jae'lon Oglesby note

Just confirmed that Jae'lon Oglesby will not be attending Clemson.

From what I've gathered, this was a decision made by the Clemson staff. Don't really have many more details to share other than that.

After signing out of Daniel High School last February, Oglesby spent this past fall at Fork Union Military Academy.

No word yet on what his next move will be.

Left same message at The Rock, but are we going to make use of the scholarship he would have gotten by finding another commit this cycle, or just wait out Fields and Wilkins as planned? Seems like we might want to find a PK.

Not determined yet. I think we will see Clemson take 2-4 more now.

Always hate to lose one this late, especially one that has been committed this long but this isn't a class shattering loss IMO. Oglesby would have contributed at some point, but we have talent coming in to make up the loss. If we can use the spot to firm up somewhere else it work out in the long run.

what an unexpected development. However we are loaded at WR/RB so not such a huge loss. I didn't see Oglesby contributing right away anyway...
Hopefully this opens the door to pick up or flip a stud over to Tigertown

I much rather would have had Oglesby than CJ Fuller though. I don't see Fuller making it on the field especially at RB. He doesn't really offer anything that we don't have with other backs on the roster and he's way too slow to move to corner.

Oglesby is quick and would have done really well as a third-down back/slot receiver to complement Choice IMO.

I've seen Fuller play and you're wrong about him. If Dabo felt that way I'm sure Jaelon would be moving in tomorrow.

Obviously you have missed everything said about Fuller over the month of December... Staff really surprised by Fuller don't be surprised to see him on the field some next season at RB...

Come on now. We hear about practice squad and spring superstars every year. Unless Brooks,Choice, Gallman, and Dye get injured/struggle, I can't see him getting many snaps.

If by "don't be surprised to see him on the field some next season", you mean he will get ~10-20 carries in garbage time against FCS opponents, then yes, you're right.

Not sure why some feel the need to trash a young man before he has played a single down. There is no need to argue about his playing time or skill as he will have a chance to prove himself.

Fuller fits the physical profile at running back that Morris tried to sign and Dabo mentioned him several different times towards the end of the season and during bowl practice.

I've heard that there were some "character" issues with Jae'lon. Dabo has proven that not only must you achieve as a football player but as a citizen of Clemson University as well. His consistency in a handling this type of issues whether they are star players or not is to be commended.

I look for Oglesby to end up at SMU with Morris
