Default You know what this means

If the CFP expands to 12 teams there will be no more high-profile non conference games.

That Clemson is guaranteed to get in the playoff pretty much every year barring a total meltdown.

There will never be another UCF mythical championship.

Why do you think this is true?

Doesn’t dropping to an 11 game schedule put more pressure on ending the FCS games? I think schools will need to find better matchups and neutral site games to maximize revenue.

If you’re right then you can kiss goodbye to the ND games against Clemson scheduled for later in their ACC rotation.

I think the opposite is true. There are two pathways now to the playoffs: a conference title, or an at large berth. If you lose a prime OOC game it doesn't impact the former but if you win a huge cross-sectional game it strengthens your claim to the latter. In fact I think the conferences will encourage big OOC matchups in order to strengthen the argument for multiple league berths.

SEC teams won’t be able to afford an ooc loss. They will protect themselves by not playing another P5 so the media will continue to promote 2-3 loss SEC teams that only lose to other SEC teams.

“Yes Missouri is 8-3, but they only lost to 11-0 Alabama, 10-2 LSU, and 10-2 UGA. Therefore they should be considered.”
