If their outbreak is anything like what Wisconsin had to deal with, then they are most likely done.. The Big 10 screwed themselves with their stupid 21 day rule.. Unless that somehow changes now lol..

Per the Big10 color coding scheme. It sounds like they are orange/red status for testing positive populations. If they go to red/red then they have to suspend activity for min of 7 days. That would definitely put next weeks game in jeopardy.

Well from what I read (rumors) they had 5 players test positive prior to the latest round of tests. Then had additional positives on Friday. That puts them above the 5% red threshold (red/red).

The Big10 should have began the season when everyone else did. Their high horse screwed them over. At the beginning of the season, covid numbers were better. They were going to rise anyway barring a miracle. Waiting and their arrogance messed them up

Listening to the “Emergency OSU Podcast”, OSU will be petitioning the B10 to change the 21 day Covid suspension rule so they have the players that tested positive available for Michigan. They are saying “the science” doesn’t support 21 days. 14-16 days should be the rule.

Funny how the Big10 rules were perfectly fine for Wisconsin and Maryland. Also, both of those schools were upfront and suspended their programs immediately. OSU appeared to try and hide it.

At this point, I wonder if the Big10 cancels all the non title games planned for 12/19. It’s looking like the virus spread among teams will only get worse these next couple weeks. OhioSt may end up playing 5 games. Personally I think a 5 game schedule (and no conference title) is not sufficient to be considered for the playoff. Same argument for the PAC12. I would prefer to reward an undefeated Cincinnati in this goofed up Covid season.

If I recall days 15-21 were intended to allow the player to resume conditioning activities and complete the cardiac monitoring. If the Big10 caves on their protocol that would just validate the hypocrisy and who actually runs the conference. Safety first, right?

My 25 year old and 22 year old sons just got it a couple weeks ago.....the entire protocol is alarmist BS. Ironically, my 25 Yo has had the flu....he said he’d take COVID over the flu any day....
According to the CDC, they did contract tracing in high risk families...there was not a single case where someone with a mild or moderate infection spread it more than 6 days after the onset of symptoms. A day after your fever breaks, you are no longer producing transmitable viruses.....although you still may test positive. That makes the FSU BS even more maddening.
