Default 2015 CB target emerges

We've received word on a cornerback prospect that Clemson will target now that Juwuan Briscoe is off the commit board.

Marcus Lewis, a four-star from Washington DC-Gonzaga, is confirmed as an official visitor to Clemson for the weekend of the South Carolina game.

Lewis committed to Virginia Tech in November of last year, but decommitted less than a month later. He took a look at Clemson before committing to Florida in mid-April. The Florida pledge lasted until late July.

Washington State has already hosted Lewis for an official. Kentucky is scheduled to host have on campus in December. Dates to Ole Miss and Miami are set for January.

Clemson was scheduled to have him down earlier this year at one of the junior day events, but I believe he had to cancel those plans.

Even if he commits, how reliable might it be given his short history?

But at this point it is no reason to not go after him.

IMO Lewis or Fields would be an upgrade over Briscoe right now.

Makes sense he would start the process for that region. Was just curious if we were bringing in heavier hitters like Venables. I think I read somewhere that Pruitt was working him for UGA, for example.

Yep, that's Mike Reed's territory.
