Default Parker Boudreaux learns details of new football facility

Just spoke with Boudreaux, who's now on his way to Columbia for a visit to South Carolina.

During a conversation with Thad Turnipseed, Boudreaux was given an in-depth look at the amenities that will be apart of the new football facility by the practice fields.

Here's what Boudreaux told me:

"(Turnipseed) showed me the new facility and said its like Disney World. It's all new stuff. So that should be really cool when it comes out in 2016 or 2017, so that was really cool, too."

"They're doing mini putt-putt, laser tag, a lazy river, slides, a nap area, an outside chill area. They'll have pools and kitchens and everything. It's pretty crazy."

Recruiting is all about the player amenities. You knew there would be plenty in the new 60 million plus facility.

I heard On the radio the other day there is a slide from upstairs into the locker room too and that was a Dabo want.

Player amenities will be huge in recruiting.

Some may be asking why do this for one sport and not the other big sports that are building.....

Your leader has to have the vision and cajones to ask for it.

I don't know, but maybe the other sports might have access to it as well.

The main Google facility has some of these things, assuming the Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson movie The Internship is accurate.

I'm sure the Clemson stuff will be state of the art.

If none of y'all listen to the Clemson Athletics Podcast, you should. Don Munson interviews people involved with the athletics programs, and his Feb 19th interview with Thad Turnipseed covered all of this and more with the new facilities. You can find it on the official website, and if you subscribe on iTunes or your podcast app of choice, it'll download for you every Thursday. It's a good podcast that also talks to people beyond the major sports, so if you're interested in knowing what's going on with some of the stuff that's off the radar, along with football, basketball, and baseball, you should check it out.

Here is a link to the interview with Thad.

And if these ammenities will really be in the new facility, the basketball and baseball programs should have access to these so they can use them as a recruiting tool....

I would be highly surprised if other teams get free access to the football ops center. It's called that for a reason. Not the athletic dept fun house.

My point above was that Dabo had the vision to lure Thad Turnipseed to his program for this kind of stuff. They're the reason this is coming. Dabo is/has been thinking outside of the box and it's paying off. Now they have a new fun toy box to play in. The others need to follow suit to think outside the box.

I highly doubt the administration will build another one for the baseball and basketball programs

I agree with that. They shot their wad already in baseball for sure because the walls are going up. Basketball needs to assess what bells and whistles they can include in the player areas and practice areas. .

If I know Radakovich like I think I do, I'm sure they'll do it right with the LJC upgrades.

I don't think many baseball facilities if any have anything significant in their player facilities like the new football operations facility will

And with all that being said I am happy and content now with the football upgrades coming as well as the new baseball facilities...we'll have to see what the new basketball facility will look like... I guess the only other thing the football program could maybe use is something similar to what USC has with gamecock park
