For most of these kids, it might appear to be generational wealth, but it's barely enough to get them 25. Yes, the QB at Tennessee is getting set up nicely, but the ones that might make a couple hundred thousand dollars and not graduate will be severely hurt by their short-term decision.

Absolutely. Lost in the NIL discussion is the value of a college degree. The number of professional athletes that receive "generational wealth" that go bankrupt is staggering.

This is where being in the ACC is going to kill us. The SEC and B1G have the money and are going to be able to "buy" the best players. Teams in the PAC12, ACC, and Big12 are going to fade.

There is no denying that the recent trends in college football have gone against Clemsonís way of doing things.

The dilemma that remains is how does Dabo adapt to the tectonic shift that is happening right now while maintaining some semblance of what makes our program special.

Unfortunately, no one can answer that at this time. The way this upcoming season plays out is going to be fascinating, not only for our fortunes trying to get back into the playoff but as the first data point on what the ROI for NIL looks like.

Does a team like Texas A&M rise up or does it blow up in their face?

College football, as we know it, is gone, folks. The sooner we all accept it, the sooner we can get past some of this angst and suffering.

Either college football will implode (not impossible) or it will revert back to something resembling what it was prior (less likely but also not impossible).

But as a whole, we need to move past the idea that this is any time in the past and Clemson can muscle its way through recruiting through branding and marketing alone.

What an unprecedented run on summertime commitments. In previous years, the All-In Cookout was our big summer recruiting event held in July. We would typically see a handful of pledges at that time but nothing like we saw in June of this year. It was refreshing to see the coaches adapt and change their stance on allowing official visits prior to the season, but I think even your most ardent optimist did not expect to see that kind of immediate ROI.

There is no need to dive into every name but, suffice it to say, we got several of our primary targets on board and there is traction for several others still on the big board.

The key will be keeping everyone locked in going into the season and, hopefully, having a bounce back year (by our standards) to keep the momentum rolling.

RB
Jeremiah Cobb is the primary target at this time and the only real shot we have of kids currently offered. With his recruitment, it might actually be a positive if it drags out into the fall. Auburn is our reported competition here and there is a lot of smoke out there that if Bryan Harsin does not have a good year, heís on the chopping block. If they get out of the gate slowly (They have a span on their schedule in Sept/Oct where they play Penn St, Mizzou, LSU, @UGA, @Miss, Arkansas in a row), the rumors may start swirling allowing us to swoop in.

As Sam mentioned previously in this thread, another name out there is Christopher Johnson out of FL but he has yet to receive a formal offer. If things slip with Cobb, keep an eye there.

WR

Nathaniel Joseph was the one bit of bad news in June with his decomittment. He maintains that we are still an option but it is very rare to see someone come back on the line after cutting bait.

Tyler Williams is probably our main focus at this time. There was a lot of insider chatter that Arch Manning was favoring Georgia and, if he committed there, several high profile receivers would follow suit. Well, as most of you saw, Arch hitched his wagon to Sark & Texas for now. I think this opens the door for us to get back into the thick of it with Tyler. He already used his official visit the big Jun 3 weekend so letís see if we can get him back on campus for an unofficial for a game in the fall.

Ronan Hanafin is tending to Notre Dame.

OL

Zechariah Owens took his official during the June 3 weekend and we really solidified our standing here. At this time, we lead.

The exact same thing can be said of Harris Sewell, our other primary target on the offensive line.

DL

One of the largest recent developments is us gaining major traction with Peter Woods. He has made several visits to campus and that is always a good sign. Alabama will be stiff competition here as the home state school but there is reason for positivity looking at this battle. He took his official to us Jun 3 and has not made his to Bama yet, though he has several unofficials there. His reported commit date is July 8 so it will be interesting to see if he follows through or pushes out.

Hunter Osborne is another AL prospect we are in the thick of it with who also took his official on Jun 3. Tennessee and Auburn are the main competition here but there are reports that we lead.

Colton Vasek is still out there as an end prospect but there has not been a lot of buzz with him lately.

Things have majorly cooled on our pursuit of Rico Walker & Desmond Umeozulu.

LB

Tony Rojas is still out there but Penn State seems to be the main interest with him.

There is a good chance we are done with LB recruiting as long as we can hang on to the two we have.

DB

Braeden Marshall is still out there at corner.

Damari Brown visited Jun 3 and we seemed to make up some ground but the U is the perceived leader there.

Robert Billings is the primary target for safety.

Things are cooling for Dakari Nelson who was top of our board at one time for safety.

We are up to 91 offers now which is more than we have seen in several cycles. There is a good chance more may go out at some positions of uncertainty as we go into the season (RB, WR & DB).

This is looking both premature and dated. I prefer not to assume the worst, unlike some others. I prefer to let it play out. And this is playing out well at this point.

At any point in time we offer our thoughts on a message board based on the current circumstances. A few months ago there were more questions than answers so posting some concerns was not assuming the worst or the bestÖjust an observation based on the environment at the time. The alternative is to never post or speculate except about the past (not current or future).

Why canít we express our views good and bad without getting called out? Sometimes we are right and sometimes wrong but we are all Tigers regardless.

Not saying they arenít Tigers. Iím just posting my thoughts on their thoughts. I just donít think the sky is usually falling. Tbh I get tired of those that usually do and I guess it shows through sometimes 😉😉

Where do we stand with 5-star Caleb Downs who grew up a Clemson fan IIRC?

He has visited unofficially a couple times but, unfortunately, we were never able to get much traction.

The chatter is top-3 are OSU, Bama & UGA with the leader in question at this point.

Doing very well recruiting in the trenches, a little worried about the WRs in this class. Ngata leaves this year and not totally sold on the Collin's yet as being the elite type WR Clemson is used to.

I wouldn't count out Clemson with Ronan Hanafin just yet.

Interesting on Hanafin.

I keep on expecting Tyler Williams to come to his senses and realize Georgia doesnít throw the ball. Unfortunately, thatís an uphill battle at the moment.

Beyond those two, havenít heard any other fringe WR names. Maybe we kick the tires again with the Tennessee receiver that camped but then committed to Cincy right after? Ayden Greene

Seems odd that we would lose a recruit to Cincinnati, any insight?

Interesting to read this thread from the beginning to see how the recruiting board is constantly changing. Good stuff!

We didn’t lose him to Cincy. He was never offered.

I was just speculating on a 3-star guy that has shown interest in us if we end up having to go down our board a bit. On tape, he shows some ball skills but has worked out for our coaches at Swinney camp so maybe there is a reason we didn’t end up offering.

We've yet to beat Notre Dame in a competitive recruiting battle this cycle. Don't think that changes with Hanafin.
