Default Dakereon Joyner

This picture was taken while Joyner was on the way to the end zone, for the first touchdown of today's state championship game against Dorman:

Awesome athlete...great photo!

Is it reasonable to think he'd come to Clemson with Bryant and Israel waiting in the shadows and Cooper expected in this coming year?

Also, DW4 said yesterday he only has two more years to enjoy his college experience after this one...I may be delusional, but that sounds like two more seasons with the Tigers even though he graduates next December.

How would all of this talent stack up over the next few years and beyond?

There's also the 2017 class. They'll have a guy in with that haul too.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too.

There's no chance they would skip 2017 considering taking two this year?

Doesn't seem to be room for everyone.

No. They're taking a QB in 2017.

With the commitments of Johnson and Brice...how do you think it will affect Joyner? This kid is a big time playmaker and lightning in a bottle.

You got me. I was wrong.

If anybody else who covers Clemson recruiting says they knew it was going to be two for 2017, they're lying.

Probably pretty significantly.

When I saw him on Saturday, before Johnson and Brice were committed, he made it pretty clear that Clemson isn't the clear-cut, No. 1 team on his list.

Plus, there's no guarantee that Clemson will take him as a quarterback. However, with Cooper, Johnson and Brice, I think they've got some wiggle room with their take in 2018.

If Clemson can't get Trevor Lawrence, who's a better prospect than all of them, they could afford to take a developmental guy. And, right now, Joyner would be (in my opinion) a developmental guy.

Wow, I forgot about Trevor Lawrence, and he is right down the road from me in Cartersville. Do you think that he would be ranked higher than Joyner? I've heard top rated in 2018. Do Cooper, Johnson, Brice, Lawrence and Joyner have similiar attributes or do they excel in different areas? It seems that Johnson realized that there was something unto those hills and committed and Brice loved Clemson and saw the writing on the wall. What are your guesses on the interest from Lawrence and Joyner?

Lawrence is the best prospect out of all of them. He's not the most athletic guy in the world, but he's not a stiff. You could say the same thing about Cooper and Lawrence.

Right now, Joyner is a better athlete than he is a quarterback. Out of this group he's the best.

I can't say for sure what Lawrence an Joyner think of Clemson now that Johnsona and Brice are on board. I haven't talked to either one since this all happened.

But you would have to imagine that Clemson's situaution isn't all that attractive to any QB in the 2018 class.

And I don't want it to sound like I'm taking anything away from what he's accomplished in such a short time. He seems like a good guy and a hard worker.

I like that Joyner genuinely wants to be a good quarterback. I admire that about him.

It's the same way I was with Kelly Bryant. I've heard both talk about how much they want to play quarterback. I like that in a guy, especially when people are saying can't.

To be a big-time, Clemson-level quarterback prospect, Joyner's got some areas that need to improve, and I think he gets that.

Well, maybe he'll come along then if he does see where he can improve or if there's a better opportunity at a different position.

I don't know much, but even though he's only played at a "high school-level"...as a sophomore, he's been quite the leader and has really impressed me.

Regardless, he really seems to like Clemson and he looks up to DW4 a lot so I still hope he finds his way here one way or another.
