Default How do folks appear about the return of the NBA

Anybody watching? I don't watch much and haven't for years but know a lot of folks do.

Have not watched since the days of Magic, Bird, and Jordan. Don't plan on watching.

Haven’t watched since the Pistons had Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Chauncy Billips in the early/mid 2000’s. Even if they got good again I doubt I’d pay much attention.

If fear the NIL and the recent rules change for jersey expression will eventually lead me to tune out college football also. I don’t care for the all about me culture we have these days.

This might be a bit of a left turn on the original question - I like the NBA, don't care so much about athletes speaking out on social issues, it's our right as Americans. But...

I'm not sure I'll be watching any NBA this season, regardless of how well my team does. The social justice vibe the NBA puts out and with how vocal they are - and the fact that they remain silent on China, a MAJOR business partner is just not OK. With what is going on with the Uighurs in China and how the government is basically committing genocide against them, and yet the NBA won't say a word because of $$$. I cannot get behind that.

I don't understand how you can be "woke" on one issue and then turn a blind eye to that. If our government was doing what China was doing to a minority group, the outcry would be deafening.

ESPN

Yahoo

Fox

I'll tune in when the playoffs roll around. Right now I'm watching as much MLB as I can while we still have it. Hopefully the league doesn't get shut down but it's certainly a possibility.

Something more drastic than the current state of affairs would have to happen to make me care LESS about the NBA.

Haven’t watched in a few years and have not missed it. When 2+ steps is called walking, palming is a thing again and the crybaby millionaires stop acting like children I may tune in again

May I add?
When the Euro-step is a treadmill in Norway, and not a way to laugh at Coach Naismith.

+1

Why was MJ better than LeBron? Because they were allowed to play defense in the 1980s and 1990s.
