Wouldn’t be right not to give a shout-out to Powell. He played big again this week.

Despite the fugly loss, I think Amari needs to be recognized as one of Clemson’s top receivers of all time with how he’s carried the WR unit through such a pivotal season.
... and can we give a shout-out to Cornell for his patience & dedication. He balled tonight!

Why you gotta copy me 10 seconds before I say it?

Well... knew the poor play and lack of discipline would catch up to us eventually this year. Oline still a revolving door and this is the weakest defense we’ve had in ten years. Injuries are tough, but no excuses.

The seeds for this loss were sown over the past few years with the misses we had in OL recruiting. The warning signs were there when an undersized and far less talented Syracuse defensive front was able to shut down our running game. We've averaged 96 yards rushing per game in our last three games, including 34 yards tonight. We win this game outright, even with all the injuries we had before and during the game, if we are able to run the ball and sustain drives.

Third, if we get our dogs back that game in the ACCCG will be an ass whipping. No way that Notre Dame team beats us with Davis, Skalski and Lawrence.
Fourth, once again DJ played his tail off. Awesome future at QB but we gotta get an interior OL and more DTs.

Agreed with all, Judge, but I’d like clarification on whose decision it was to go conservative on that final drive before scapegoating Elliot, especially after the outstanding game he called & adjustments made.

So we entered w/o Lawrence, Davis, Skalski, and Jones. During the game we lost Zanders, Bockhurst, Ngata (again), Jones, Brisee, and Turner (I think).
Bye week could have come soon enough.

Very much agreed, but we gotta understand that OL is a different animal. So many programs have been ahead of us, and for a long while, on that front.... and it’s difficult to pull those top OL when other programs have a stronger history of sending those guys to the NFL.
For Clemson it’s unfortunately baby steps for OL. As we start showing that we can send our 4 & 5 star guys to the NFL, then we’ll start getting those top recruits who are looking for an excuse to come here and play for championships like the other positional groups that we’ve been having great success with. I promise you Dabo & Co WANT these elite offensive linemen.

If we can’t recruit top 100 Oline players, then we need a position coach that can develop the project players into NFL caliber. Right now we’ve got really average to worse results for a perennial CFP program.

Agreed. We start putting a few offensive tackles in the NFL and suddenly everyone else can’t plant these huge seeds of doubt in prospects’ minds. I think Jackson & Walker will be positive steps for us [as long as we can develop them to the level we develop our DL].
