If Brees retires, I think about how DW4 would do in that offense.

I don’t suppose the Saints have anything available to make that trade? Shuffling Winston over to Houston would be a good move.

Given what it took to get Hopkins out of there, the bar isn't that high.

Wherever he goes he isn't going to be cheap. I mean a team is going to have to give up a lot to get him. You talking Rickey Williams/ Mike Ditka territory.

The discussion in Charlotte has been CMC and the #8 pick this year.

That's a starting point. Throw in 2022's first and 2023's first and they may be close to a deal.

But the texans already have David Johnson so they won't need CMC.

Whatís the scoop on Tua? Is it already clear he will not develop such that they would move him along with two 1st round picks?

If the Dolphins make this trade, it would mean they believe they are ready to win big starting next year. Tua might end up being really good, but he is still a few years away from being anywhere near what Watson is right now. I really think this is a good deal for both teams as it gives the Texans 2-3 players to build around including Tua, while giving the Dolphins a superstar while still not completely destroying their picks in the near term (they already have 2 Round 1s and 2 Round 2s this year thanks to the Texans).

I didnít have a high evaluation on him coming out, and heís done nothing this yr to improve it. Thereís also been a few players speak off the record that they have concerns about him. Deshaun is a star. Tua is a smallish, often-injured, non athletically gifted, non special armed QB who throws with his opposite hand. Unless he has Drew Breesí HOF level of instincts, cerebral ability, processing speed, and ball placement, which is unlikely, then thereís nothing special to fall back on bc he looks like a 6th round QB from a physical/talent/toughness/durability standpoint.

This sums up how I feel about him: final game, have to beat Buffalo to make the Playoffs, Miami has the ball inside Buffaloís 10, Tua scrambles toward the goal line and instead of trying to punch it in or dive head first for extra yards, he slides feet first like a scared wuss which places the ball back where he originated his slide- the 5 yard line.

Interesting! I wonder what Gavin thinks about this? Would you want that, Gavin?

Interesting. As a Falcons fan, i'm down with it. Both of them have a few years left, but their days are numbered. I can't remember the last time Julio played a full season. Matty Ice still has some good years left in him especially if he can find an OL that can actually block for 4 quarters.

How do you guys feel about New Orleans? Would that be a good fit for Watson? I assume Brees is retiring, and they donít exactly have a playoff caliber QB on the roster unless Winston has morphed into something altogether new. Iíd love for Watson to go to team that has a winning culture and a coaching staff that has a clue about how to build around him.

Iím guessing the Saints arenít in a position to give away players and picks to pull off the trade since I hadnít seen any speculation about them being interested.

I think he'd be a perfect fit there, and Sean Payton is the perfect coach for him. Look at what he did with the offense when they had to turn to a TE to replace Brees.

Turning to Hill tells me all I need to know about Winston as well.
