If Meyer is to coach at Jacksonville, will Urban Meyer pick Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields?

Thinking Fields will drop a little in the draft. He was always #2 in the mocks and now they have him moving back.

B/c he's a OSU homer. If he made that pick based on that, he shouldn't be the head coach.

I think Meyer not taking Lawerence over Fields would be a slap in the face to OSU fans. Their fan base clearly thinks Fields is the better QB. Meyer is an OSU homer and if he takes Lawerence then he is sending a clear message to OSU that Fields is not the better QB.

Doesn’t Meyer still have a position within the OhioSt athletic dept in addition to his FoxSports job? If so, his up close view of Field’s talent may cloud his preference towards Fields? No idea if that’s even legit, just wondering.

Ok with me. He takes Fields, jet go OL, Miami not a QB and TL ends up in Atlanta. J'ville sucks anyway and with a washed up college coach at the helm he will trash whoever he takes. NFL is no the place for a college rebuild job.

Lawrence and it's not a discussion. All the reporting out of those in the know with the NFL is that the main reason Urbs is considering Jacksonville over LAC is because at Jacksonville he can pick up Lawrence. Before the playoffs last year Urban, while employed by Ohio State University, called Lawrence the "best college QB, maybe ever".

Fields just isnt the prospect TL is. Very good prospect, but Day helped him out a ton with scheme.

Depends what he can get in a trade. JF or one of the other QBs and 5 other picks including a couple of first rounders would be tempting

Urban didn't get to be the #3 coach in winning percentage in college football history for being stupid. He has absolutely no ties to Fields because Fields went to OSU in the Day regime. Unless Jacksonville trades out of #1, and I don't see why they would because they already have 11 picks in the 2021 draft, he's picking Lawrence.
