Default Strengths in 2010

Time to look ahead to 2010. What are going to be the strengths of the team?

- Have to start with DL. We lose Sapp, but have incredible depth coming back on the DL. Bowers, Thompson and Jenkins will all be improved (wow). Great depth with Chavis, Cumbie and Rennie Moore. Moore really came on last this year and should be a monster. At DE Branch and Goodman played well this year. And don't forget Kourtnei Brown who redshirted this year so will have 2 more years.

- OL will also be a strength. Senior Chris Hairston will be looking at a possible NFL future after next season so the LT position is in great shape. Cloy will slide in nicely to fill in for Austin. Not any dropoff there. Center is in good shape with Freeman coming back. McClain will be pushing for All-ACC next year. RT will be better with an improved Walker and David Smith. Main need on OL is to build some depth behind those guys. Sure will help if JK can come back and play.

-Secondary will be another strength and IMO will be improved from this year. Look for Hall and McDaniel to start at safeties. Not too many teams will have a better pair. Gilchrist will likely move back to corner and start along with Maxwell. IMO those 2 should have been our starting corners this year. Will be much more physical.

- QB will be improved and a strength. Parker should be much better with a year under his belt. If Parker does decide to leave (which I don't think he will) then Tajh will step in nicely. Tajh will be inexperienced so there will be some growing pains, but he is a stud. Don't be surprised if Boyd pushes Parker if Parker stays.

OL could be a concern is we have injuries. Interested to see if JK makes it back. If not we need another OT that can play well in the 2-deep.

Agree on the secondary. Will definitely be more physical. Now that is all based on DeAndre coming back.

QB will be interesting to watch Tajh battle.

RB-Ellington breaks 1000 yard mark next year. Harper will fill in nice as a backup. Keep hearing Rod McDowell is going to impress.

WR- Bryce should fill fords shoes. Dye will only get better. Jones and Brown will be improved. Looking forward to see what the new wr coming in can do at the next level.

TE- My biggest concern. We have D Allen but whats there after him we will miss Palmer.

OL-Will be strong can see a couple all ACC come from that group.

QB-All I can say is TAJH BOYD!!!!!!!!!!

DEFENSE- LBs my concern. Willard will be strong!

Agree that Ellington will break 1000 rushing. Bet he gets more rushing nextyear than CJ did this year.

Interested to see McDowell. Swinney keeps talking about how good he will be. If he's half as good as Ellington we are in good shape.
