Default What does Clemson have to do to not drop in the AP Poll?

Do they need to win by 100?

I might actually only come down to one thing: Trevor not throwing INT's.

It's sad, but this is it. If Clemson wins 45-10 and Trevor is 20-29 with no INTs, Clemson doesn't drop.

He has been forcing some balls because he trusts his receivers and his arm. Personally, I don't think either INT was that bad. I do think there were better places to go with the ball though, and I think that is what the coaches are going to stress.

That's what it is. They aren't dropping Clemson in the rankings, they are dropping Trevor's performance, which is ridiculous. Think about it. We're winning by 20+ all but one game with 2+ turnovers a game.

That's insane. Unheard of. And as upset as some people here are, all it takes is some film study and discipline and those 28 point wins become 42 point wins and then what?

Man, it would be great to either add a conference, and then only conference champs go to the playoffs, period end of discussion. AP would have nothing to do but actually report on this instead of everything they put out being an opinion piece.

+1 It's all the AP looks at when it comes to Clemson.

I can't believe the media is doing this....it plays right into Dabo's hands. And btw....I haven't seen anyone that could just line up and beat Clemson without some serious help in the way of special teams scores, multiple turnovers, etc.

Deshaun threw 2 picks in the first half of the Ohio St game, we missed kicks, did not play well early at all..... and we still won 31-0. It will take a special effort for someone to beat us this year.

The AP poll is irrelevant.

The crew that runs the website that tracks the AP votes, also have a Twitter feed. They love to trash the AP at how inept they are at getting their results tallied and distributed each week. It's pretty funny.

We'll have to have an offense that comes out firing on all cylinders. TLaw will have to wreck shop with 400 yds and 4 TDs in the first half. Then we'll have to put in the 2nd string and still manage to win by 50 pts. That should do it.

But really it's all about perception at this point. We need to win and look really good and polished doing it. Crazy ridiculous but that's the game these jabroni's are playing.

The polls are irrelevant but I expect the CFP Committee, assuming nobody gets upset before the 1st ranking comes out (big assumption), to rank us behind Bama, LSU, PSU, OSU, and OU. The CFP is very “resume” focused and all will have better wins than Clemson. Time, and other loses will move the Tigers up the rankings as the year goes on though.

Not sure I agree all those teams will have better wins than Clemson. LSU has the win over UF, Texas overrated their D is terrible. Bama hasn't beaten anybody, nor has OSU, PSU or OKla.

Winning games makes us drop in the rankings.... losing a game maybe?

Win both games in the Playoffs. Do that and not even Dumbo could rank us lower than #1. That’s about the only way.
