Tyler Shatley is still playing OL in the NFL and he was converted to OL while he was here out of necessity from the defensive side.

I always think of these. I thought Jaylen Lay would be a unique fit. Big and athletic.

SameÖ but heís gone the other direction and dropped some weight since last year. Might be tough putting 40 lbs on him within the time we need it, bc weíve got plenty of talented young bucks hopefully ready to slide in next year- basically a pair of 5-star tackles and a slew of the nationís better interior linemen.

Tayquon Johnson was a convert from the DL but tore his pec early in the season, I think maybe even during fall camp. Just have to get better every week. On a much smaller scale, but playing in HS every game you get better and more confident. I was not good as a freshman and senior year won some awards. I would imagine in college it would be the same for most, obviously having your true freshman that start from day 1 and dominate here and there.

Itís just not something thatís going to get fixed in season at this point. We all know what needs to happen. Caldwell is a great dude that everyone loves but the product is the product.

And weíre stacking up some excellent oline classes so we need to pull the plug before we waste them.

You are clearly just a mean person! Better you to say it than me.

Seriously, likeable and capable are not always found in the same person. I was sent a reply email message about the O-line by a writer on another Clemson website that Caldwell might retire after the post season and recruiting cycle is over.

It depends. Are guys in the right place and getting beat 1 on 1 or is the issue mental meaning they are not blocking the right guy or in the right spot or taking too long to make the decision?

If guys are not good enough then it cant be fixed this year. If it is mental then it can be fixed as they get comfortable and confident.

My guess it is more a mental issue and will get better as the year progresses.
