Default AP All-State in Florida

Garrett Williams was named to the 3-A All-State team as a running back today.

Preferred walk-on offensive lineman Seth Penner was voted to the 2-A team.

The 5-A and 6-A teams are announced on Wednesday, 7-A and 8-A are on Thursday.

Plant (Fruhmorgen) is 8-A. Tampa Tech (Cain) and Sickles (McCloud) are 7-A schools.

Israel is already a Clemson student or will be by tomorrow. I assume he is no longer eligible for Florida high school awards and teams.

Seth Penner's Mother attended most of the home games this year. She stopped by my aisle seat early in the season, introduced herself, gave me a hug and said her son was coming to Clemson. Every game thereafter she stopped by and gave me a hug. Being old and non-threatening does have it's advantages.

Israel, Cain and Fruhmorgen were all first-team selections.

McCloud was voted to the second-team.

Hale -- When I lived in Florida 1-A was the lowest (size wise) schools and the larger the school the higher the A's. Is this still true? I have seen statements that Israel's school did not play a tough schedule. If his school is 7-A he should have had some stout competition. Could you clarify? Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's how I understand it to be.

I'm guessing the competition he faced in conference would be somewhat similar to what Kelly Bryant saw.
