Yes, there's a lot to coach from and analyze...16 days to get all of that messiness covered.

I remember an auburn team who had to go to over time at home to beat an average team early in the year. ......on their way to a title.

It's a long season

Well this give us some film to teach with. Rough game for the offense despite gaining 400+ yards. Despite Watson getting rushed at times, the OL did slightly better than I expected. Need better QB play though. Missed a few critical passes.

I'll have to admit, I didn't see that kind of D from UL, the O officially sucked out loud for them, but the D was fast and furious.

For real...I feel better about the close win, but I would have hated to have the mental * on this game had it been a loss.

I can hear myself now, "but they would have won if it wasn't for..."

It's no way to live.

WHAT are you talking about? You can think that all you want but I sure as hell won't. They won at Louisville at night on a Thursday when they obviously didn't have their "A" game. They made mistake after mistake and was wearing Louisville's defense down. Its a learning experience for Watson. He looked uncomfortable at times and you could tell the injuries was in his head a bit. I think Gallman was awesome and the O-line played better than I thought they would. I think the play calling left more to be desired and don't understand why the O coordinators didn't pass the ball more especially the quick hits that were working 99% of the time. The defense only gave up 14 points now the kickoff defense needs to be fixed yesterday but all in all it was the first true test against a team whose back was against the wall throwing everything they could at Clemson to try and not fall 0-3. It gives the coaches plenty of game tape of the starters to really dig in an teach off of for the next 2 weeks to get prepared for Notre Dame. Also if you think Watson is going to play this badly all year you my friend are sadly mistaken. Clemson probably walked out a little to confident and it almost cost them but a win is a win and thats the name of the game. You won't see that Clemson team week in and week out I can guarantee that for you right now....

Clemson's defense had just a tinsy winsy bit to do with that don't you think?

This is a good win. We all have to remember that Louisville was playing with major desperation. We didn't match that fire and intensity at all on offense for most of the game. The defense came to play and are most of the reason why we won the game. I think this game will help us in a major way for the rest of the season. We are now 30-0 against unranked teams. That is awesome.

Most of that talent on D is gone after this year and Petrino isn't exactly known for caring about defense. After this year there are no more former Charlie Strong players or Georgia transfers on the way

Sorry but some of you negative Nancy's are ridiculous. Man you knew Louisville was going to come out and try not to fall to 0-3. Its a win its nothing to get overly excited about nor is it anything to go to the nearest tallest building and jump the hell off either....

Come on now, there's always wayward SEC players looking for a new home.

After week 3? No, but we could be after week 14 and that's the key. Get better every week and play your best ball down the stretch.

By the way. You guys seem to hate me, but this is what I said prior to the game:

Re: What do you think?
I think we will win, but I think this is also going to be a huge reality check for all the people claiming we're a top 4 team at this point. We have a lot of new faces in a lot of key roles going on the road in prime time on short rest. This is going to be a tough, ugly football game and I think we ultimately will win because our few veterans have that experience winning ugly from last year.

What is awesome is that Louisville challenged us to best then running the ball and Wayne gallman ran it like a beast.

I wouldn't be buying playoff tickets yet.....but even after that ugly performance there are good things to take from it.

Our DL is still nasty.

Wayne Gallman is a man.

Our patchwork OL allowed us to rush for over 200 yards.

Our questionable kicker hit both of his field goals in his first big road test.

I actually saw both Seckinger and Leggett effectively block someone.

Ben Boulware is going to snatch one out of the air at some point this year and house it.

Truth.
My biggest concern is ST. Maybe Lakip can at least kick off into the end zone. We have to set up some sort of return game tho
