Default Update on Craig Commitment Status

I just got through texting with Joe Craig. He talked with his coach at Gaffney today and his coach has talked him into holding off on a commitment. He says he will not be committing tomorrrow.

When he's ready he says we will be the first to know.

That stinks. I wonder if his coach is liking the "fowl" smelling birds a little farther south. If the kid is ready, wonder why the coach is holding him off...

We'll see how much he holds off when he's in town this weekend.

This early in the game it's good advice. I've talked to a lot of players (and other people that ought to know) that think Dabo is going to be successful - but the truth is we are a very, very unknown football team at this point.

I would not expect a lot of early commits except from players that don't want to play anywhere else at all - no matter how good or bad we happen to be.

Good point Hugh. If I were advising a player I would suggest that he wait awhile until everyone sees how Dabo works.

Great discussion. This is one of the biggest questions I have is to see how well Clemson can do in getting the early commits. If you look back at the past few years, Clemson has had roughly 50% of their class committed by June. On signing day 20% of the top 100 had already committed. I haven't checked that number lately.

Can Clemson get the early commits with an unproven coach? We will all know that answer over the next few months. It is crucial that Clemson get some early commits.

Got to agree with you here. Daybo still has to prove himself all over again and with the HC's of the HS's before they sign-off on us again. I think he will be just fine. Defensive wise with teh staff we have, I am stoked....offensively, I want to see what Napier can do with the O....otherwise, I think he put together one heck of a staff.
