Countdown to Signing Day - January 9
It's back. The Countdown to Signing Day Recruit Tracker has returned as we track another top ten recruiting class for the Tigers. With National Signing Day just around the corner we will run the Countdown to Signing Day every night.
Check back each night to see any updates to The Tracker. Changes each week will be highlighted in Orange. We only show recruits that we believe have some chance of signing with the Tigers. The list can certainly fluctuate between now and National Signing Day.
We hope everyone enjoys the return of this popular TCI feature.
We don't have a lot of changes tonight. Things should heat-up next week when the coaches hit the road again and when official visits start.

(CB) Mark Fields - 5-10, 185 - Cornelius, NC
All-American Game: Army
The Latest
While in Texas for the Army game, Fields went to Twitter to announce two updates on the status of his recruitment. On Friday, Fields posted that LSU, his "dream school," had offered a scholarship. A day later, he put out a top-two of Clemson and Texas, with the Tigers listed ahead of the Longhorns.
Today we have clarity on Fields official visit plans. The latest information has him keeping his Clemson visit for January 16, heading to Texas January 23 and LSU on the 30th. Obviously Clemson will do their best to close the deal during his official visit and get him to cancel the remaining visits.
Signs continue to point towards Clemson picking up his signature on signing day.
Florida has moved in with an offer trying to make a late push for Fields. At this time we don't think they are a big factor.

Johnson reconnected with Clemson in the fall after Dabo Swinney saw him play against Daniel High School in the 3-A state playoffs. Three days after the game, former Clemson wide receiver Airese Currie, who's an assistant at AC Flora, first-told Johnson of Clemson's renewed interest.
Clemson offered Johnson during his junior year and Swinney reassured him
during that conversation that he had a place in the Tigers' 2015 class. The
exact position is to be determined, but defensive back or wide receiver are
the options.
Johnson told TCI this week that he and Swinney spoke over the phone on New Year's Day. Johnson also spoke with N.C. State head coach Dave Doeren within the last week. During that conversation, Doeren told Johnson that would play wide receiver for the Pack.
Aside from the two ACC programs, Johnson continues to have contact with South Carolina, Towson and Georgia Southern.
Johnson will be on campus at Clemson for an official visit the weekend of January 16.

The Latest
There hasn't been much movement with Jackson since he announced that Swinney informed him that Clemson was ready to offer. Like Orr, that may have something to do with the increased interest from Fields, who's a more highly-coveted target.
A Miami commitment, Jackson wanted to take an official visit to Clemson the weekend of Jan. 16.

The Latest
Since things have heated up between Clemson and Fields, it's probably safe to assume that Orr isn't as high a priority. Oklahoma, the only school he's taken an official visit to, continues to trend as the front-runner.
Georgia is now becoming a bigger factor with Orr according to one source.
Colorado State moved in with an offer for Orr. We don't think they will be a factor at this point.

The Latest
We have done some checking on Fitzpatrick in the last 24 hours to get the latest. There has been some conversation between Clemson and Minkah, but based on what we have learned the conversations have not gone very far at this time.
We will continue to monitor this situation to see if anything changes, but right now there isn't any reason to think that Fitzpatrick will be coming to Clemson.
If the conversations become more substantial then things could change of course.
