Default Dabo Swinney Camp Notebook: Session 2, Wednesday Afternoon

The second session of the Dabo Swinney Camp rolled along with another workout Wednesday afternoon.

The Clemson Insider was on hand as always. Here are some news and notes from what we observed:

-- After spectating during the morning session, Phenix City (Ala.) Central four-star wideout E.J. Williams worked out during the afternoon session. He was sporting Clemson gloves and bracelets and got some tips from his former Central High teammate, Justyn Ross, who has been helping coach receivers at the camp.

We got a glimpse of what the future may hold in Death Valley as we saw Williams catching passes from DJ Uiagalelei, who has been working out since Tuesday evening.

-- Ross, Tee Higgins and Trevor Lawrence were all standing side by side watching the quarterbacks throw to the receivers in the indoor practice facility. You’d be hard pressed to find a better trio of players to learn from if you’re a QB or WR.

-- One defensive lineman that caught our eye was Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale 2021 four-star Bryce Carter (6-3, 250), who has offers from Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh and East Carolina.

We spoke with Carter’s father, who was quick to point out that the Richmond area has produced some great Clemson defensive ends in the past, naming Andre Branch and Clelin Ferrell. Carter’s father told us that his son actually trains with the same person who Branch and Ferrell trained with.

-- Denton (Texas) Guyer 2021 four-star quarterback Eli Stowers was back for the afternoon workout after throwing this morning as well. He lists offers from FSU, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and Texas A&M among others.

-- Another player who worked out at the first two sessions today was Homerville (Ga.) Clinch County 2021 four-star athlete Tyler Morehead. Florida State, Tennessee, Kentucky, NC State and Cincinnati have offered. He worked out with the safeties.

-- Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes 2020 safety Buddy Mack, who unofficially visited Clemson for a few games last fall, worked out today. Pittsburgh offered him on Tuesday. He will be camping at Tennessee and Louisville this weekend and visiting Kentucky as well. He camped at Georgia yesterday.

-- Bogart (Ga.) Prince Avenue Christian 2021 four-star quarterback Brock Vandagriff was expected to throw today, but we did not see him at the afternoon workout nor this morning’s workout. He recently named Clemson one of his top six schools along with Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Auburn.

-- Elite 2021 defensive end Donell Harris, a Miami commit, will not be working out at the camp but let us know that he will be visiting Clemson later today with some teammates from Booker T. Washington High (Miami) as part of a school tour.
