That was an amazing drive. Wish they had pushed in on in.

I loved the way it ended. We did what Clemson does by playing with sportsmanship. To have punched it in would have been out of character.

Instead, we showed just how dominant we were that night by running out the last 10 minutes and showing mercy...

...and we still won by 28.

In light of the events last week I made that to express as BloodTiger said the class of the Tigers and dominance without running it up

I think Finebaum needs to watch this drive so he can what kind of program Clemson. They easily could have put 51 on the scoreboard.

You are missing the big picture. Do you really think that if we scored 7 more points it would have changed any of the SEC media talking points this offseason?

What is happening is a contrived attack on Clemson based on nothing but fear. Fear that their beloved Alabama is no longer king. For the past 8 years, it’s all they have had to hang their hats on.

I, for one, love it. Dabo is going to use all this negativity as fuel and motivation precisely when we need it.

+1. Should have punched it in. Leave no doubt.

I think we should have tried to score again anyway.

ABSOLUTELY. I think Dabo is inconsistent when he gives the 2s and 3s on offense a chance to play to build depth, yet does not let them score. Using the entire play book is a better way to build depth.

The second unit deserved to be able to score against the 'Bama defense. Let's face it. A thirty-five point victory would leave no doubt about who was the better team that night (plus it just looks great: 51-16)!

... but I'm quibbling.

Lets recap:

1. We won by 28 points in the national title game
2. We held the ball for the final 10:02 (from our 1 to their 3,4)
3. They didn't score a TD after the first quarter
4. They didn't score at all in the second half.
5. We took a knee with backups in the national title game.
6. See point 1.

And you guys are worried about leaving no doubt? I hope I'm missing the sarcasm, lol. Personally playing keep away for 10:02 is a lot more impressive than running up the score. You guys must just be mad about all the media chat lately.

Not only did Alabama not touch the ball in the last 10:02, they didn't do a very good job of touching the ball carrier.

The only play in that drive that I take any issue with is ETN's big run.

"Don't step out-of-bounds, young man. Keep the clock running"

Me on that play:

"Yes, he's got a hole- yes, Yes, Go, Go, GO... oh why????"

I am positive there was a discussion in film study regarding the goals of that drive.

Now to the notion of "scoring another TD changing the outlook of the game". You folks are mistaken. The margin could have been 48 points, and the excuses and $EC spin would not have changed. Taking that knee with the 2nd teamers put a much larger exclamation point on the win.

"we kinda feel bad about handing your butts to you in the NCG so we will stop 3 yds short of rubbing your nose in it, rammer-jammer style"
(footnote: that rammer jammer song is the most classless thing I have ever heard, and it had no place being played in the 2015 season '2016' NCG)
