a swing is an interesting concept. We watch pro baseball or golf and take the swing for granted but when we see someone not a pro in that sport take a swing looks like they are chopping hay.
I think this is why baseball purists don’t like muscle bound players. Sparty Anderson hated the idea but Lance Parrish defied the conventional thinking with how well he hit the ball and played behind the plate.
Every time I go to a batting cage I look less athletic than a baby giraffe trying to stand up for the first time. The fact that there are people in the world who can hit a ball traveling 100 MPH is inconceivable to me.
It’s honestly something you’re just gifted with. It’s all in the wrist and being able to whip/ break your wrist on the ball at contact. Same with golf. Best comparison is being able to crack a towel and have that wrist snap.
