Default Chandler Reeves to Clemson

The 2016 OT from McDonough, Ga. tweeted earlier this evening that he's committed to Clemson.

Welcome aboard! Get ready to work hard.

He looks a little small, but if one thing that I have learned about this coaching staff, trust them!

Hale, did you see Reeves at camp? If so what are your thoughts?

Not Hale and I did not see him in camp, but, he was the only OT that the Coaches offered during camp. The Coaches must have seen something that they loved!
Just my 2 cents.

Not looking for justification in terms of why we offered as I trust the coaches. Simply wanted to get Hale's thoughts as he may have seen Reeves in person. Is it ok to be curious?

He's 6-6 and still at high school weight. Great height for the line. And no doubt coaches are confident they get him to college heft.

I am thinking weight training and the training table will add some muscle. He will need to be 330+ lbs. to have enough mass for his 6'6" frame.

Sorry for the delayed response. I saw him, but it wasn't much more than watching him move around a little bit.

Since we don't get to see 1-on-1's or any competitive work it's difficult to make much of an evaluation. But he moves well, looks to have the length and athleticism to play left tackle.

At 255-260, he'll need to add some size before he's ready to play. So I'm guessing, at this point, he's on track to take a redshirt in the fall of 2016. Adding another 25-30 pounds shouldn't be too much of an issue. I think he'll be able to add that kind of weight relatively quickly. He'll probably carry the weight it well, too.

Thanks Hale. I don't think he plays against tough competition (private school) but the coaches must have liked his athleticism. Thinking he would be at least two years before he plays a role in the two deep.

They play public school teams, including Zerrick Cooper's. It's good competition:
