Default The Insider Report

It is time for this weekís edition of The Insider Report.

We hope everyone had a great weekend. It was another big one for the Tigers as they whipped Virginia Tech to advance to another ACC Championship game.

Latest on Korey Foreman with Early Signing Day Approaching

With the early signing period less than 10 days away, all eyes are on the nationís top prospect, Korey Foreman, and there remains a lot of uncertainty and intrigue surrounding where his college destination will be.

The latest development in Foremanís recruitment occurred this past weekend when the Corona (Calif.) Centennial five-star defensive end traveled to Arizona State with Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star linebacker Raesjon Davis, an LSU commitment.

Coming off Foremanís trip to Clemson two weekends ago for the Pittsburgh game, it was thought to potentially be his final recruiting visit before the early signing period. But then plans came together for Foreman to visit LSU for its game vs. Alabama last Saturday, only for those plans to get cancelled and Foreman to end up making his way to ASU with Davis.

That, in a nutshell, is how the course of Foremanís recruitment has gone. There have been a lot of twists and turns since he decommitted from Clemson in April, with a handful of different teams trending with him along the way and appearing to grab the lead as the frontrunner at various times.

Foreman can be impressionable, and that is why his recruitment is still up in the air leading up to the early signing period, which begins Dec. 16. Anything can happen in recruiting, which is especially the case with Foreman, and his recruitment could still go in several directions in the coming days.

With that said, despite his trip to ASU last weekend, we believe Clemson and Southern Cal are the top contenders based on what we have gathered and are hearing from sources. It figures to be a battle down to the wire and from what weíve been told, there are conflicting opinions within his family on whether Foreman should leave the state of Cali to head to Clemson or stay close to home.

Clemson still has momentum on its side after Foremanís visit to campus, and it certainly doesnít hurt that ďBig DaveĒ Uiagalelei, D.J.ís father who essentially served as Foremanís personal tour guide during the visit, continues to work to recruit him for the Tigers. As we said, we will just have to wait and see if Clemson can maintain its momentum until signing day.

Foreman's plan is to sign during the early period but wait to announce his decision until Jan. 2.

Fall Stars for Clemson Baseball

We are just a couple of months from the start of this yearís baseball season. Last season of course ended abruptly due to COVID-19.

Clemson has completed the fall ball for this year so we wanted to pass along some information on who some of the players are that had great falls.

Offensively Cooper Ingle, James Parker, Kier Meredith and Blake Wright all were impressive at the plate.

On the mound Carter Raffield, Davis Sharpe, Rob Hughes, Caden Grice and Ty Olenchuk all were impressive. Caden Grice showed that he is going to be a great Tiger.

It should be a great year for Clemson baseball.

Swinney Made Sure to Keep Tradition

One of Clemsonís traditions on the road has been for the team to go over to where the Tiger fans are after the game and sing the Alma Mater. Coach Swinney wanted to make sure this tradition continued even in these unusual times with COVID-19 and few if any fans in the stadium on the road.

So how could they make this happen with no band on the road with the team? Well Swinney put the plan together and Clemson brings their own music for the postgame.

After the games Henry Guess, the assistant video director at Clemson, rolls out a speaker to the field and plays the Alma Mater. The team comes over in front of the speaker and the tradition continues for the Tigers.

Greene is playing a game at this point. He knows where he is going but stills wants to feel wanted and be the center of attention.

Itís bait. He wants it to be a ďsurpriseĒ when he picks Georgia. Thatís why he left out the Georgia hat on a previous tweet. Heís playing Clemson just like Zamir White did. Methinks the Georgia staff thinks this is funny and keeps putting these kids up to it.

UGA homer on 247 put in a CB for UGA bout 2 hours before this Tweet. He should have tried it earlier. UGA staff ? Heck, you play games when you're not winning the BIG Games.

They play games because they are NOT winning the big games. Do you see any Bama coaches or recruits doing this crap? Jealousy.

Not worried one bit about CB recruiting for this class. Clemson's depth is stacked there right now.

Itís insane the amount of attrition UGA has. They bring in a lot of talent but they churn through it like crazy too. Justin Fields. Cade Mays. Brenton Cox... list goes on and on.

I kind of feel like theyíve hit their ceiling under Kirby. He keeps trying to build Alabama light, but seems like they have much more selfish players. They donít play like a team. They play like a bunch of highly rated guys trying to show off for the NFL... and if they win as a byproduct, itís just gravy.

If he really wants to create an Alabama he needs to be more of the taskmaster and field marshal like Saban.

I donít agree. Plenty of young talent at CB but Foreman looks like a difference maker regardless of position. Of course I would like to have both
