Default Saturday morning Regional Host Update

We wanted to pass along the latest we are hearing on whether Clemson will host a regional.

Obviously the ACC Tournament did not go the way the Tigers would have liked. There are plenty of folks out there saying Clemson has lost their opportunity to host a regional. Not so fast.

We spoke with three different sources Friday about Clemson hosting a regional. Two of the sources believe the Tigers will still host a regional even after losing badly to Virginia on Friday. The other source had been told Friday before the game that Clemson was still in line to host.

One team to keep an eye on this weekend that could crash the party is Florida State. The Noles are hot down the stretch, having won three games against Louisville in the last week and now sit in the semi-finals of the ACC Tournament. FSU finished the ACC regular season with a 14-14 record compared to Clemson's 17-13 but did win the series against the Tigers. FSU moved up to No. 11 in the RPI with their victory over Louisville on Friday while Clemson slipped to No. 12. If the Noles to on to win the ACC Tournament one of our sources believes that could hurt the Tigers chances.

We will be tracking the latest on Clemson's chances of hosting all weekend. The official announcement comes Sunday night at 8:30.

The good news for Clemson is that even after the loss to Virginia the chances of the Tigers hosting remain good.
